The green marsh of summer will soon be turning gold. This patch of healthy marsh is the reason south Louisiana has such a productive wetland.

One of the benefits of being on the Wetland Wanderer is getting to see the moon rise over the marsh.  It looked orange and eerie as it passed behind this Live Oak on the edge of Bayou Lafourche.

Rocks placed on the north bank of the Intracoastal Waterway to stop erosion from boat wakes and storms, one of the many coastal restoration projects completed in the Louisiana wetlands.

Louisiana's coastal wetlands are an important place for many species of birdlife.  This flock of White Ibis launches at sunset in Terrebonne Parish.
